Before choosing a parasol, you must first understand the function of the umbrella. In terms of function, umbrellas can be divided into three types: sunny umbrellas, umbrellas, and sunshades.
Sunny umbrellas-can shade or shelter the rain, have sun protection function; umbrellas-ordinary umbrellas, basically have no anti-ultraviolet effect; parasols-also commonly referred to as sun umbrellas, mainly used for sun protection Irradiate. If it is only for sunshade, both sun umbrellas and parasols can meet the demand. The biggest difference between umbrellas with sunshade function and other umbrellas is that the former has an anti-ultraviolet coating, which can prevent ultraviolet rays from penetrating.
There are three main aspects to choose sunshade umbrellas:
First, look at the label. It mainly depends on the protection index, namely UPF (ultraviolet protection factor) value and UVA (ultraviolet rays with a wavelength of 320-400 nanometers) transmittance. Only when the UPF is greater than 40 and the UVA transmittance is less than 5%, can it be called an anti-ultraviolet product. The higher the UPF value, the better its UV resistance. At present, most parasols on the market are marked UPF50+, and their protective functions are sufficient.
Second, look at the fabric. Fabrics with thicker umbrella surfaces and tight fabrics have better UV resistance. Compared with cotton, silk, nylon and other fabrics, polyester is more sun-resistant. If you want to know the sun protection effect of a parasol, you might as well try it out in the sun. The darker the shadow, the lower the light transmittance of the umbrella, the better the sunscreen effect.
Third, look at the color. In the case of the same fabric, the dark-colored umbrella has a relatively better UV protection effect. This factor has less influence. For the beauty of umbrellas, consumers do not need to pursue dark umbrellas blindly.
